Why do Lawyers get ANY PR time on a case?

Another lawyer claiming his/her client is innocent..yada-yada-yada...
Why do major news association even give a microphone to any lawyer on a case, which is incredibly biased(and there is NO search for justice, just how much money one can obtain) analysis. This isn't NEWS...this should be on Entertainment Tonight, as a good laugh(because it's both comical, and entertainment).
Justice?? NO...that's not why you become a lawyer...it's to serve YOUR needs and provide safe-harbor to very bad people.
Because the media has to get both sides of the story -- when they hear a police report or a prosecutor report, they want to get the accused's side of the story. Of course, any comment by the accused would be extremely inappropriate, so the lawyer acts as his proxy.
And criminal defense attorneys DO become lawyers in search of justice. They're not just "safe-harbors to very bad people," they're an advocate in an adversary system -- the government is after this person and they need someone to stand up for them. That may mean defending the innocence of a guilty man, but that may also mean defending the innocence of an innocent man. Or it may mean making sure that the government proves their case, and doesn't try to steamroll over the person, accusing them of higher crimes than they actually did, or getting an unfair punishment, or merely getting their day in court to explain their actions.
Justice means fairness -- making sure that the government follows the constitution and the laws when prosecuting people, making sure that the individual is found guilty, or making sure that the government doesn't overcharge or orver sentence -- that is the punishment fits the crime.
Is there an advantage to having money in the criminal justice system? Yes, of course. But is that why we should throw out criminal defense attorneys? Not at all. Remember, the vast majority of criminal attorneys work for the state -- either as a prosecutor or a public defender -- and get paid very little and get very little satisfaction from their jobs except in those rare cases where they can really help out a client.
Don't knock the whole legal profession just because you had a beef with Johnny Cochraine.
