Desktop Mic

i bought a new desktop mic today, and it doesnt seem to work?

i bought a manhattan Desktop Microphone – gooseneck boom with mute. i plugged it in to the back of my tower, but it doesn’t seem to work. do i have to install anything?
it is not muted.
